Our monthly informal performance days provide students with the opportunity to work on their performance skills in an easy and nonjudgmental environment. Participation in performance days is open to all our students at no additional cost. The audience for the monthly performance day is composed only of fellow students and one or two teachers.
(While lessons are held online, we will have virtual performance days.)
Each school year we offer one duet recital, one solo recital, and one recital by invitation. These are formal recitals that allow students to experience performing for a bigger audience in a formal setting. Parents, family members, and friends are welcome to join the audience and support the performers.
(While the lessons are held online, we hold virtual recitals.)
Participation in one rehearsal is required for performing in the formal recital. Rehearsals take place at school and registration is required.
Our calendar was designed in a way that allows us to offer a fixed monthly tuition. Each student receives sixteen lessons during a four-month period. That means if the student receives three lessons in one month, she or he will receive five lessons during the following month.
Our annual exam takes place during the month of June. Beginning in January, teachers help the students prepare for the exam by working on our school’s curriculum requirements. Our examination is a tangible way for students, and their parents, to mark their improvement, and it is a way for the school to maintain its high quality of instruction by closely monitoring students’ progress.
During exams, which take fifteen to twenty minutes, students will show the result of their work on their pieces, theory, ear training, technique, and music literature. Students then receive feedback from the head teacher or one of our more experienced teachers.
