Golden Key Paino School’s December 2022 Newsletter

Dear Manhattan Piano Academy Community,

As the year is coming to a close, we hope you have a great winter break. To read about this and more, here is our December newsletter.

1. Duet Recital

We are excited to announce our first duet recital as Manhattan Piano Academy on January 22nd 2023.

As we are all preparing for the duet recital, by now you should have a duet partner and a piece assigned for you by your teacher.

It is a good practice for the parents to have the duet partner’s contact info and stay in touch for practicing and later for rehearsal.

Practicing duet is motivating for those students who need some motivation. It is much more fun to have a piano peer and practice with than to do it alone.

WHEN: Rehearsal : Sunday January 15th 2023 1-2pm

Recital: Sunday January 22nd 2023 1pm

PRICE: $30 per student

The $30 fee covers our rental of the place and pays for teacher’s time to attend the recital.

3. Informal Zoom Performance Day

Our informal performance day on Zoom will be on Tuesday December 6th at 6.00pm EST.

We are looking forward to our next informal performance day.

4. WhatsApp Participation

Our WhatsApp group is a great opportunity for more informal performance practices. The group is open to current students of Golden Key Piano School and Manhattan Piano Academy only.

We strongly recommend everyone’s participation in the group by recording and posting your pieces.

The WhatsApp link was sent to you in the welcome email. If you do not have it, please reply to this email and we will send you the link.

5. Referral System

Many thanks for referrals!

We have been registering students who were referred to us by current or former students of Golden Key Piano School. Believe it or not, we have even had referrals from those who are just starting their own lessons at Golden Key Piano School. We are flattered and grateful for the confidence that our students and their families have in our ability to teach.

To return the favor, for each student that is referred, we will:

• Add $50 to our scholarship fund to make our quality lessons available to a wider community.
• Waive the $30 registration fee for your friend as a welcome gift to our school.
• Send you a thank you gift.

6. Calendar Reminder

Please note that the school will be closed from December 26th to December 31st for winter break. For those classes fall on these dates, your lessons balance out as there were 5 weeks in October/November hence you don’t need makeup classes.
