We are truly excited to announce that the teachers at Golden Key Piano School are getting vaccinated and we started teaching in-person lessons starting April 5th. By May 1st all the teachers will be back to school.
Having your lessons in-person definitely adds value to what we offer. We are so glad to be back to our beautiful facility and to be able to hear the students on the nice baby grand pianos that we have in classrooms. We can’t wait to see you all back using the facility.
All current students must have received a letter from Mr. Arefi by now about your return to school. If you haven’t received it please check your junk mail and reach out to us by emailing to info@goldenkeypianoschool.com. If you did receive and haven’t responded yet please consider letting us know about your plans ASAP.
1. Annual Exam Registration
Our main goal at Golden Key Piano School is to transmit the life-long love of music to the students. Our examination and certificate is not the goal of taking lessons but it is a way to organize our teaching by following the curriculum guideline and also it is a tangible way to show the students what they have learned during the past year.
For those who are new to school, the exam is really a short lesson with the head teacher Katrin, or our senior teacher Nicole. Both teachers are very careful to ensure that the exam is an easy and not stressful experience for the children.
Please find a time slot that works for you here and register for the exam.
If time slot does not allow you to register, the timeslot has already been taken.
If you would prefer to do your exam virtually, use the Zoom links below, otherwise we will see you at school.
(NOTE: Students can not take the exam with their own teachers.)
We are very proud to have students who start with us very young (some of them at age four,) and stay with us all the way to the end of high school. We are celebrating the graduation of four such students this year.
Dear Elaine, Ariana, Isabel, William and Tergelsar,
Congratulations on all of your accomplishments at Golden Key Piano School. We love you and we are proud of you.
We will meet the graduates on Sunday June 13th at 5:00pm for an informal goodbye party at school. Parents and siblings are welcome to join.
3. Past Recital Video Links
Here are the links to our Solo Recital Streaming for you to watch at your convenience and to share with your friends and family.
4. Top 10 Student’s Recital
This year, since it is still not totally safe to have a gathering that big, we are going to have the Top Ten Student Recital in a few smaller settings as home recitals.
Feel free to talk to your teacher or email us at info@GoldenKeyPianoSchool.com if you are interested in participating. We will set you up with another family at the school for your recital.
Each recital will be for two families and it can be held either at the school or at one of the families homes. Recording is not required but encouraged. Recitals will be held in the months of June and July.
5. Study Hall
We are excited to announce our new program for this summer called Study Hall.
Study Hall is a zoom room where students join to practice for 30 min and get “credit” for it.
Here is how it works:
Show up on the Zoom link provided below.
Our staff will check you in.
Sit and practice on your own for 30 min without interruption.
Our staff will keep track of how many practices you attend. After you attend 10 practices during the month of June, July and August you will get a medal for your discipline.
The first study hall session will begin on Monday June 7, 2021. See you there!
We would like to extend a warm welcome to our newest addition to the teaching team, Benjamin Mohab. He will be teaching at Golden Key Piano School starting this summer.
Mohab’s passion and enthusiasm about his work makes him a great addition to our teacher’s team. and His full bio will be available on our website shortly.
7. Welcoming back our Beloved Teacher Gabriel
We are pleased to announce that our dear Gabriel is back from Paris and will be resuming his teaching at Golden Key Piano School this summer.
Gabriel Daniels is one of our long time teachers who has been loved by all of his students. We are looking forward to seeing him at school again.
If you have any questions please call the school at (510) 665-5466 or reply to this email.
Yours truly, Katrin Arefy
